Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Malé, speedboat to the island

Your host meets you in the arrivals hall at Velana International Airport (MLE) and walks you to the resort lounge. The shared speedboat crosses South Malé Atoll in about 45 minutes; on a private transfer you leave when you land rather than on the boat schedule. Check in, then the afternoon is yours. Dinner is at the main restaurant.

Day 2: The house reef, and the ocean if you want it

Breakfast, then the morning is free. The house reef starts a few metres off the beach and snorkelling equipment is included, so most guests are in the water before nine. The afternoon is a choice you make when you book, not on the island: a snorkelling safari to two reef stops and a turtle cleaning station, a private sandbank with a grilled lunch, or a sunset cruise out to the drop-off where the spinner dolphins run. You can also take none of them and stay where you are.

Day 3: A day at your own pace

Nothing is scheduled. The water sports centre, the spa and the dive school all take walk-ins, and the lagoon is calm enough for a kayak most mornings. In the evening, either handline fishing off the reef with your catch grilled on the beach afterwards, or a quiet dinner at the resort — whichever you chose at booking.

Day 4: Speedboat to Velana, fly home

Breakfast, then check out by midday. Your speedboat is timed to your flight and leaves about three hours before departure; the resort holds your luggage if the boat runs later than check-out. Back at Velana, your host sees you to the departures hall.
